It's a Red and Black Affair!

Welcome back to On-Point's blog.  Here's wishing you a fulfilling and prosperous 2015.  It is indeed our year of overflowing grace.  All we that's required of us is "faith" and "works" and the results will definitely follow.

On behalf of the On-Point team, I would love to thank everyone who was part of our story in 2014. I am looking forward to even a bigger and greater 2015 with you all by the God's grace.

As you know, On-Point is a full service Event Planning Company specializing in planning African/Nigerian Weddings and Special Occasion in the tri-state area (and we are available for travel).  We have in-house Florists, Designers, and Makeup Artist who can assist in making your day truly special.  In addition, we've partnered with the outstanding service providers and vendors in town to bring you the best that you truly deserve on your special day.

For my first post of the year, I decided to go for a red and black affair...

When choosing color combination, there are several factors you need to consider.  Some these factors include, but not limited to event type, complexion, time of the year etc.  In regards to #makeup, my philosophy is that less is more.  At On-Point, our goal is not to make you look like someone else on your special day, rather we work to enhance your natural features and God-given beauty.

Would you think of rocking a red and black outfit/makeup look for your wedding reception or simply for your special occasion?  Before you say "Yay" or "Nay", sit back and let's explore the color-combo together!

1. Headwrap (Gele)
The gele featured in the picture is fondly called "onjawu".  Onjawu can be easily recognized by thread lined across the outer parts with precision holes spaced at pre-determined intervals.  These are usually hand-woven and comes in different colors of your choice. You can also add more "life" to your gele by adding extra blings (like the red one used here) however, you have to be extra careful not to make your gele appear too "busy".  If you need help with choosing your outfit or would simply like to schedule a consultation session with On-Point, kindly call (610) 931-3350.  For your orders, please allow at least 4 - 6 weeks for delivery.

*We can also supply complete bridal aso-oke set (for bride and groom) upon request.*

2. Red & Black Beaded Jewelry
This beaded jewelry is custom-made by On-Point and it's called the inter-locking beads.  These designer beaded jewelry were crafted with care to ensure that you get high value in return for your investment.  Typically, I have a preference for classy beads and I think everyone should. If you'd like to place an order for these beads or any other design of your choice, kindly contact us.

3. Red Guipure Lace
The African fabric market has exploded at an alarming rate in the last two years - all thanks to the world fast-becoming a global village.  With this added advantage of accessibility also comes the risk of purchasing inferior quality fabric.  If quality fabric recognition is not your niche, On-Point can help you source for the best quality fabric directly from the factory.  We work with fabric vendors home and abroad all with the aim of helping you channel your efforts to your areas of strength.

4. Black shoes with "heart" accent and sizzling heels

Don't you just love my shoes? I thought these were pretty and would match perfectly with my outfit and sure it did!.  My feet are big & wide and it typically takes a long time for me to find shoes that pleases me.  I'm glad I found these..

With my simple yet elegant #makeup and outfit, you really don't have to wonder why this "look" got picked for my first blog post of the year.

Thank you for visiting.  My goal was to inspire and help you make an informed choice.  I hope I was able to do just that.

Kindly leave your comments in the comment box below and let me know, if this is a look you'd consider rocking on your special day.

What's your #style? Checkout Chinelo of @MyStyleOasis

Chine....@Drexel ASA Fashion show
Social media, when used purposefully, opens door to many blessings.  I cannot but be grateful for the opportunity, everyday, to connect and meet with talented people from all walks of life.  Chine's story is inspired by passion and grace.  Her life exemplifies the fact that satisfaction and happiness can truly come from embracing your passion and following your heart.  It doe not matter what the world thinks or says, what matters is that we were all born to accomplish great things and the only way we can do that is to embrace our real passion.

The fashion world is craving for more and more talented hands and it was not by coincidence that I had an opportunity to work with Chinelo, for her fashion show hosted by Drexel University African Student Association on Friday, 12th April, 2014.  With her #blessed hands, she made unique #African outfits for all the models that participated in the show.  I bet she is on her way to be one of the greatest fashion stylist of this generation!

Meeting her for the first time in person, it felt like we've known each other for long.  Her demeanor was calm and she was the kind of client everyone would love to work with.  She asked that her makeup be classy and elegant and I went to work.....

Enjoy her makeover below...

Bridal Inspiration: Gold and Orange

Beautiful...finished look

Choosing your colors on your #wedding day can be very stressful and I have come across so many people who thinks and says, "I can do it all by myself". That's a good nature to have when you are helping a friend or an acquaintance, but when you are #planning a once-in-a-lifetime #event like your #wedding, you really should not take chances. At +On-Point Eventz , we basically tell people; you can't re-invite wedding guests to have the wedding a second time. In addition, We are usually surprised when we get calls from potential clients and they tell us about how they've already spent so much money in securing the venue and paying the caterers and so on but are now looking for someone who can help them with a cheap, but nicely done decoration for their big day! If you attached so much value to all other things, please attach value to everything you do.  In life, nothing good can come cheap unless it is stolen.

Once you decide you want to walk down the aisle and you choose your event date, the wedding planner (in this case +On-Point Eventz) should be the first person you call way in advance.  The earlier you call (we always recommend one year if possible but 6 months is okay too), the best value you will get for your money.  We work to save you money not the other way round.  We can offer our expertise to bring every of your imaginations to life on your own budget.  Please, do not wait till the last minute to avoid disappointment.

Now, let's take a look at the color combo Gold and Orange for your outfit.  This time, we worked with lovely +JENNIFER Ezeuka and she gracefully allowed our brushes and gifted hands to work on her beautiful face.  Enjoy the makeover below and we do hope you'll be inspired!

Peaceful (Bridal) Royalty: A tale of purple and green

Wow, this winter was exceptional especially with how super cold it has been and how much snow showers we got.  This year, there were several days that businesses had to shut down, schools closed and church services canceled due to snow and dangerous weather conditions outside. All in all, we are thankful to God for the gift of life and the grace to do all we do.

So the wedding and special celebration season is here and the signs of spring are forth coming.  At first, when we started this blog, we had no idea what direction to go.  We just knew there has to be a better way to inspire brides out there.  Today, we are humbled by how fast the blog and our business have grown.  We are thankful to all our viewers, customers and loyal supporters.  The page views says it all and it is just a wonderful thing to behold.  This blog has reached over 20 nations across the world and we are still counting.  Thank you all for your support.

We have been working behind the scenes to bring some ideas to you as a bride and just showcasing different color combinations.

Today, let's explore the color combination of green and purple.  Green represents peace and purple is a color of royalty.  Blending these two colors can give you that big pop you are already dreaming of. I've dubbed it "Peaceful Royalty".  So sit back and enjoy this transformation. All products used (with the exception of brushes) were +MAC Cosmetics ,and  +Urban Decay Cosmetics. All brushes used were +Sigma Beauty.

The inner winner unleashed: A story of inspiration and grace

Right before the event.....

So many people go through life in pain without having a shoulder to lean on.  When the road is blocked and it seems like there's no way out, God shows up and provides a way when we least expect it.  He opens his arms and accept us as we are.  Truth is, we all go through trials and tribulations of varying degrees and more often than not, our strength is mostly found in adversity.  The latter statement is true for Mrs. Abiola Saba of Munica Hill, NJ who has found comfort and given the mandate to share her story with millions, thereby providing encouragement and hope.

+ABIOLA SABA is an author, entrepreneur, personal development coach and speaker.  She launched her book titled "The inner winner unleashed".  When she contacted +On-Point Eventz to glam her up for her book launch, it was such a privilege.  Mrs. Saba is a woman of honor and +On-Point Eventz is truly proud to be associated with her and even more, for the opportunity to glam her up.

Since this was a book launch, I decided to go for a more subtle look.  I blended shades of neutrals using the NYX bronze pallet.  As always, +Sigma Beauty brushes and +MAC Cosmetics foundation powder were used.

She loved her look and definitely rocked her polka dot dress. +On-Point Eventz rejoices with +ABIOLA SABA and our prayer is that she will achieve even greater heights in Jesus name.

If you will like to purchase a copy of the book, please click here: http://www.amazon.com/The-Inner-Winner-Unleashed-inspiration/dp/0991586417

I was blessed to be a part of history and even more blessed, when I read the book.  It is highly recommended that you get a copy.

To connect with her on Facebook, please click here:https://www.facebook.com/Abiola.Saba

Enjoy the makeover and please don't mind the quality of the pictures!!!  I took the pictures myself with my camera.
